strong feet = less pain in knees, hips and even shoulders

Published 6 months ago • 1 min read

If you ever feel pain in your knees, hips or shoulders you'll probably benefit from exploring the relationship of your feet to the rest of your body.

Just a small shift in the way you stand into your feet will cause a ripple up your whole body. Stronger feet allow you to release tension up above and feel more grounded and at ease.

It can be really simple to make a huge impact. Surprising, right?

I had no idea when I first started to examine the role my feet play in my posture and the way I walk. I never really thought about the fact that my right big toe getting caught in a big wheel at 5 years old or falling off an old rusty bike with no brakes while barefoot and flying down a hill at 11 years old affected every step I took from that moment on. And how the way I avoided the injured area set me up for impaired patterning throughout my life.

Once I started to get it I was amazed!

I love teaching my workshop "Your Feet are your Foundation" because it makes such a difference in my students' lives right away.

If you can hold on to just one small, quick exercise integrated into something you're already doing everyday - you'll see lasting change. I get super positive feedback from this workshop and it makes me so happy.

I'm offering the workshop at Ruby Pilates in Sebastopol, CA this Saturday from 1-3 pm PST so if you're in Sonoma County I'd love you to join us!

I'd like to offer the workshop live online in November. If you're interested in that, please hit reply and tell me so. If there's a time that would work well for you, include that. (It'll be recorded if you can't make it live). The online version will include a few Q&A's and if you come to Ruby Pilates this Saturday you can join online too.

With love and gratitude,

Kristen

Feel so good you'll dance in your kitchen! Simple shifts will make a huge impact as you become aware of the daily postural patterns that keep you in pain and add bite-size exercises into the things you're already doing everyday. Soon you'll feel lighter on your feet and you'll bounce and glide through your day.

My birthday is the last day of winter and it always feels like I come alive again in the spring. It's time to get out into the world again, to go for walks and get active. If you have any aches and pains from sitting for hours or being too still over the winter, listen up! I've got an opportunity for you to work with me to feel better... so good, in...

It's the end of another year. How are you, Reader? Are you the kind of person that does inventory? Do you take the time to look back and celebrate your triumphs, ponder the things that failed and dream about what you'll upgrade in the new year? Everyone has a different way of doing it and who knows what works best. One year I scribbled on some scrap paper as I shivered in my freezing car, waiting for my children to have enough of sliding down a snowy slope on inner tubes with their cousins. I...

My dad turns 88 this August. He taught me a lot of things about living a good life. He says having a project that you're passionate about keeps you vital. He lives with my mom in Big Bear Lake, California in the dream home they had built at the edge of the San Bernardino national forest overlooking the beautiful lake below. For years the canyon outside the back deck was a tumble of brambles, trash and discarded odds and ends. Kind of a dump. It was really too steep to walk down. In the winter...
